Rumours are abuzz with news about Apple’s 9 September Media Event. The event hasn’t been confirmed by Apple but they should send out invitations to media on 2 September where we might get some clues about what will happen during the media event. Here is an update on the rumours about what Apple will be revealing at the Media Event on the 9 September.

iPhone 6

There is no doubt that Apple will unveil two models of iPhone 6, a 4.7 inch and a 5.5 inch model. We are still unsure when the 5.5 inch model will be available . The 4.7 inch is likely to go on sale on the 19 September in the US, UK, Australia and some other countries. It is expected to get to South Africa in November.

We have already seen mock up of the iPhone 6 and most likely won’t be surprised at the physical look of the iPhone 6. Apple are most likely to reveal some new software advancements in iOS 8 that they haven’t already revealed.

Recent rumours suggest that Apple might include NFC into the iPhone 6 and reveal their mobile payment solution. There is very little information about the inclusion of NFC but it has been rumoured for a number of years.

iWatch

A recent rumour that started with Re/code, who have a perfect track record, suggest that Apple will unveil their long awaited iWatch however it won’t be available until next year.

According to Re/code, the device will “make good use” of both HealthKit and HomeKit, two sets of APIs that were introduced during WWDC. HealthKit, which ties into Apple’s iOS 8 Health app, focuses on health and fitness, while HomeKit is a home automation platform designed to allow users to control a variety connected devices.

After the release of the iPhone 5s in a Space Grey option and the changes to the iPod colours, many people have been wondering if Apple will add the Space Grey option to the upcoming iPad’s.

Photo’s of the upcoming iPad update have been surfacing for a while now but in the last few days a Space Grey option has surfaced.

There has been some speculation that the upcoming iPad’s will come in Silver with White, Space Grey with Black and, the recent addition to the iPhone family, Gold with White. However there is no evidence to support these claims and were most likely made around the hype of the new iPhone event.

Apple is expected to update it’s iPad line up in the next two month before the Christmas holiday season.  Apple is most likely going to change the form factor of the iPad to be more like the iPad Mini is a slimmer casing.

iOS 7 & Mac OS X 10.9 to be released at WWDC

iOS 7 & Mac OS X 10.9 to be released at WWDC

Apple has begun putting up internal banners for WWDC at Moscone Center. Apple had previously confirmed that it would announce iOS 7 at WWDC.

iOS 7, WWDC

The design of the banner is very different to previous banners of iOS7 and shows the minimalistic feel that iOS 7 will have. Jonathon Ive took over design of iOS 7 toward the end of last year and is said to be interested in simplifying the design of iOS and make it look more like the physical design of Apple products.

At the same time a banner for Mac OS X 10.9 also appeared and also carriers a simple design unlike previous years. Apple will also announce 10.9 at WWDC.

Mac OS X 10.9, WWDC

The font on both banners appears to be Helvetica Neue Ultra Light, an extremely thin variant of Helvetica, Helvetica is the default font for all iPhone, iPad and iPod’s. It will be interesting to see if Apple start using this Neue Ultra Light version with iOS 7 and OS X
